NZX Update
22 June 2012 - NZX advises that the Country Court of Victoria has ruled that
Australian entity RALEC be awarded AUD$34,761.71 (plus interest and costs),
an amount claimed to have been incurred by RALEC shareholder Grant Thomas in
the course of his six-month employment by NZX between November 2009 and April
2010.
The conclusion of this matter leaves the way clear for NZX to concentrate on
more substantive matters to be heard in the Wellington High Court, and to
support the ongoing growth of the Clear Grain Exchange in Australia.
Grain tonnage traded on the Clear online platform for the 2012 year had
reached 500,000 tonnes by 19 June, an increase of more than 100% over the
same period in 2011. Clear also recorded its highest trading day to date on
21 May, with 20,581 tonnes traded by 114 sellers and 21 buyers on the Clear
platform.
