GENERAL: OHE: Orion Health selected as Queensland interoperability vendor
30 November 2015
Orion Health selected as integration vendor in the first step of an
interoperability overhaul for Queensland Health
Orion Health's Rhapsody integration software, in a partnership with Fujitsu
Australia, has been selected to replace Queensland Health's legacy middleware
system.
This is the first step in a large program of work that will incrementally
replace Queensland Health's IT infrastructure. Fujitsu Australia is providing
the implementation and change management services with support from Orion
Health's Australian implementation services team.
Queensland Health is responsible for the public health system serving
Queensland's population of 4.8 million people.
Orion Health Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, Darren Jones, says "we are
thrilled to be working with Fujitsu to deliver the first stage of Queensland
Health's future interoperability platform. Together we have a shared vision
for a fully integrated state wide health system and Orion Health is excited
to have the opportunity to provide the foundation for this with our Rhapsody
solution."
Under the first phase of the program, Queensland Health will refine and
confirm its requirements, along with the solution design and implementation
approach.
Queensland Health's CTO Colin McCririck, chief architect Brendon Kirby and
its IT team will take a co-design approach with Orion Health and Fujitsu, to
mitigate any risks and technical issues.
It expects to complete the first phase by June next year and begin installing
the new middleware after that.
Ends.
