CHANGE OF SUBSIDIARY NAME AND AGREEMENT WITH NEW BRAND AMBASSADOR
The recent rebranding of the Group's finance company from Smithcorp Finance
Limited to Smiths City Finance Limited is the first step in a strategy to
increase the profile and ultimately the size of the finance business and
reflects the importance of consumer finance in the Group's integrated "full
service retail" model.
The Directors are pleased to announce that Smiths City Finance Limited has
signed a three year agreement with Kieran Read to act as its brand
ambassador.
Managing Director Rick Hellings said, "The association with Kieran Read is a
positive step for Smiths City Finance. It is part of a strategy designed to
inform our customers of the very real value in dealing with our own finance
company rather than financing through a third party.
When you buy from Smiths City you are being looked after by Smiths City staff
from the sales floor right through to delivery, installation and finance
which is part of what makes Smiths City unique in New Zealand".
The signing of the agreement was reported in the Christchurch Press on
Thursday 29th January and a copy of that article is attached.
