Spark New Zealand confirms deregistration from SEC in US

Spark New Zealand Limited (Spark New Zealand) announced today that it has
deregistered its American Depository Receipts (ADRs) and ordinary shares
under the U.S. Securities Exchange Act (Exchange Act).

Spark New Zealand will continue to provide its sponsored ADR programme in
conjunction with Bank of New York Mellon and ADRs will continue to trade on
the U.S. 'over-the-counter' market (ticker code NZTCY). Spark New Zealand's
ordinary shares remain listed on the NZX Main Board and the Australian
Securities Exchange (ticker code SPK). Spark New Zealand will continue to
post electronic versions of its annual reports, interim financials and press
releases on its website investors.sparknz.co.nz
