The judgment of Trustpower's High Court tax case against the Inland Revenue
Department has been released today.

The judgement has found in favour of Trustpower that around $17.7 million of
feasibility expenditure incurred in progressing four renewable generation
projects during its 2006 to 2008 tax years is deductible.

While the judgment remains open to appeal, this is a pleasing result for
Trustpower in a dispute that has run for close to six years and required
substantial time and resources to litigate.
