GENERAL: TRP: Transpower announces Australian Medium Term Note funding

Transpower announced today that it has issued AUD$300 million Senior
Unsecured Notes to Australian and Asian institutional investors.

Settlement:   28 August 2013
Maturity:     28 August 2023
Coupon:       5.75%

All proceeds have been swapped back into NZD$.

Proceeds from the issue will be used for general corporate purposes,
including the capital expenditure requirements of the Transpower Group.
