GENERAL: TRP: Wairakei - Whakamaru 'C' Line Commissioned

Transpower advises that the latest addition to the National Grid - the new
double circuit Wairakei to Whakamaru 'C' line -  was fully commissioned
today.

The new double circuit Wairakei-Whakamaru 'C' line enables the connection of
new and existing geothermal generation being built in the area and provides
sufficient capacity for the future. The lower capacity Wairakei-Whakamaru 'B'
line will now be removed.
