GENERAL: VCT: Maui pipeline Critical Contingency ends
Maui pipeline Critical Contingency ends
Following final tests and independent certification of the repairs to Maui
Development's
pipeline, Vector began purging and re-pressurisation of the pipeline in the
early hours of
Sunday morning.
The Critical Contingency Operator (CCO) was then able to advise retailers the
restoration
of gas to all customers could commerce in an orderly and managed way.
Vector Chief Executive Simon Mackenzie said Vector staff have been working
around the
clock to repair the Maui Pipeline.
"We have moved as quickly as possible, maintaining the highest safety
standards and
compliance with legislation.
"We are pleased that the Maui pipeline is back in service and that the last
remaining
customers have been brought back on line following this challenging and
complex
repair," he said.
As at midday Sunday, the Critical Contingency Operator (CCO) declared that
the Critical
Contingency was over. Following this Critical Contingency incident there will
be an
incident report and a formal review, as required by the regulations.
