WKS 11/07/2012 12:19 GENERAL REL: 1219 HRS Works Finance (NZ) Limited GENERAL: WKS: Downer Awarded New Mining Services Contract Media/ASX and NZX Release 11 July 2012 DOWNER AWARDED NEW MINING SERVICES CONTRACT Downer EDI Limited (Downer) today announced it had been awarded a long-term rolling contract with TEC Coal Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Stanwell Corporation Limited, to provide mining services at Meandu Mine in South East Queensland. The cost reimbursable contract, which has an initial term of five and a half years, will commence in January 2013 and have a value in the range of $600 million to $800 million. Downer will provide a total mine service to TEC Coal. This includes mine management, planning, drilling, overburden removal (including dragline and truck-and-shovel operations), coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. TEC Coal will provide the majority of the required plant and equipment.
