The Tali directors had zero insight when it came to partnering with Akili (which effectively collapsed after its NASDAQ debut and was taken private again, leaving post-IPO stockholders out of pocket massively). And they had zero insight when it came to Genius and, it seems, the colourful characters behind it. A complete lack of proper due diligence imo, and repeated ongoing failures to monitor things more broadly with these “partners” (like their financial affairs and their ability to honour contracts entered into with - and payments due to - Tali). I read last night that some of this Genius mess dates back to 2019, when issues were being raised then by their staff over wages not being paid etc. The Tali directors have imo failed us badly by getting into bed with a growing litany of incompetents/swindlers (depending on your personal view of the Genius and Akili mobs) and seem to simply wash their hands of responsibility after the fact.
