GEV " 430-tonne capacity C-H2 Ship" The new "Suiso Frontier (Hydrogen Frontier), built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries" for Victorian coal to hydrogen to Japan is "1,250 cubic metre capacity vacuum insulated double-walled storage tank which will safely and efficiently transport liquefied hydrogen cooled to -253 degrees Celsius." Suiso Frontier has a gross tonnage of approximately 8,000 tonnes. Converting 1,250 cubic metre to tonnage is a item I will leave to experts

Loved the levage of prior developed GEV tech and it may be if not the first one of the first ships to use Hydrogen in its planed "GEV intends to fuel the ship with hydrogen from the storage tanks, providing a ‘zero-carbon’ shipping solution. The C-H2 ship will be equipped with dynamic positioning for rapid connect and disconnect of near-shore buoys"

Note Suiso Frontier has boil off controlled by " boil-off wherein heat inadvertently converts the LH2 back into gas form and thus increases the pressure within the tank. This unwanted but inevitable occurrence in LNG tanks is potentially more severe in an LH2 tank since LH2 evaporates up to ten times faster than LNG. To address this problem, a compressorless, hydrogen-compatible gas combustion unit (GCU) supplied by German industrial burner manufacturer Saacke will ensure that any boil-off gas is completely and safely combusted to reduce the risk of increased pressure."

Saacke has a great way of taking up to 5+ tonnes per hour of LNG and burning it ""
SAACKE GmbH from Bremen to manufacture and supply GCUs with a plant capacity of 5.2 tons of gas per hour each for their six new LNG tankers. Since the end of 2015 they have been operating between North Australia and China for the ship owner China Shipping LNG Investment Co, Ltd.

Clearly some of Suiso Frontier tonnes of boil off may be used to power Suiso Frontier. It depends of how much Boil off occurs for capturing.using the tonnage of boil off occurring. If it is at or below the power used by Suiso Frontier it is not wasted. If it is above current power needs I assume it may wasted. How much is yet to be seen.
