Not really. Spent the $ chasing potential high grade epithermal ore shoots. Novo Astro also was well worth a blind drill. All that cost $ AND focus. The significant hit at 024? Looks like it may have had them rethink CuAu porphyry with potential source for all of these shoots from a deeper source. Previous IP and follow up drilling somewhat inconclusive as looks like they didn’t get quite deep enough. Bottom line is there was plenty of exploration to do including verification of historic intercepts. All in my humble Opinion of course but it does seem reasonable to assume they had enough to go on with high grade narrow gold shoots. Running the IP across the core of the tenement for approx 26km of grid lines was clearly the right move. Everything seemed to point to a deeper source feeding this highly differentiated/altered strata. And they were right. There is a deeper than previously explored signal with a strong core. There is a lot of evidence to suggest the higher readings are a result of sulphides. Extent of mineralisation will be shown by the drill.
The IP is part of a bigger picture it seems. The exciting part about all this data gathering is the narrowing of a target for this 1000m drill. There will be a lot of work done to overlay and combine mineralogy, historical drilling, recent drilling, strata mapping and of course current and historical IP. The final drill target will be as refined as the company can get it, giving the best possible chance to intercept what could well be an extensive mineralised porphyry. Nobody is sure this will reveal a significant deposit, but the work has and is being done to improve the chances of at least drilling into a section with maximum potential.
