Yes they are just forecasts.

And unless there is more information on how stringently the forecasts are monitored and scrutinised by those other than the company Geo's, neither scenario can be taken as absolute, particularly when discussing size, shape and validity of pit design at such an early stage.

The "assumed" pit design of WR1 will almost certainly change significantly over the next number of months.
The MRE is in its infancy with significant possibilities of a positive upside that could change anything to do with pit shape going forward.

Add to that the likelihood of an alliance of some sort with neighbours, the pit design being guessed at this point is more for the sake of argument than anything else.
