Fear of losing their health (read into that what you will).


If they tried to pull this type of shit in other cultures, they would be 'reigned in' pretty quick smart, and more than likely made an example of.

Problem is, Australia has been a peaceful nation for so long that the status quo is to bend over and hope they use lube, because no one is prepared to take a stand and say this is bullshit.

What options does it leave, when investigations into corruption and efficiency bring about the obvious truth that a department should be abolished?

Royal commission? That's more of a token gesture of a toothless tiger.

Same goes for CEO's. As you say, it's a merry-go-round, and you're not invited, and until the element of fear is reintroduced to their lives, they will keep getting away with it, because there are not enough people ready to do something about it.
