yeah, that was the same story I heard from a seasoned and knowledgeable local. No security, nugget gold is pretty easy to flinch, reckoned they were walking out with ounces each shift. the company took him into the mine to get his opinion on the best approach to mining, he told them to go about it differently, approach from the lower end, below the creek flood level, but build a bund first. They went the other way attempting to get to the best sections quickly due to investor sentiment/demand for quick results.
