Like hell dont get angry..
its clear polite discourse calling for the needed changes is not producing the desired effect after several attempts. Time to raise the tempo and get angry or at least loud enough to be listened to and compell those in power to take action for real change before we are any more further down this dead end road. In any case some little party that struck a chord with voters for radical change is very likely to have quite a bellicose rhetoric I would imagine.. not a touchy feely lefty kinda approach so either way there will be some anger in any transition.
Hey I'm not so naive that I can't see the bigger picture and aware of other levers being pulled etc this is a stock forum so im reluctant to go on about it as much as i could..(not doing a very good job at that tho am I?) but ultimately following the money sheds a lot of light on the situation. Mass Immigration puts downwards pressure on wages which benefits the elites / asset owners as much or more than housing appreciation.. there is a whole raft of things wrong that I think are unlikely to be addressed by the eunuchs in power until they feel the pain that is their loss of power. As the disaffected numbers grow that becomes more likely.
But the reality is that voting for some tinpot party that has no hope of getting in is very unlikely to help either. It can do but australia is so far from having a viable option in that respect that im aware of, that the better option is to tear the leaders of the uniparty several new ones till some one emerges from their ranks with a revolutionary approach.
Trump has been this man in the usa but im not suggesting his analogue here. I think hes an dishonest arsehole myself but noone with any plums was there to challenge him so thats where it ended up.
We need someone with the same balls but with a bit of integrity and good will. So far I havent seen that person but when they come they will probably only be effective if they are from one of the main parties under the current system and not a career politician. The young people who have been mostly affected would be a good pool from which to find such a character.
politics aside, utimately I think ai and robotics will actually even the playing field very rapidly for all but but the very elite, who will be incredibly powerful as long as they can keep pulling the levers and maintain control of the intelligent machines. The vast majority of the rest of us will be comfortable plebs.. provided for by the huge tech and productivity gains that the very near term future will provide us but even thats a bit distopian.
Citizens spoon fed their needs like a baby as seen fit by the elites.. just enough to stop them crying and enough to think they have a good life.. but hey.. in the end life is what and how we perceive it.. so if there is a really good illusion of a good life .. some virtual or actual reality that appears to provide for all our needs, even if its artificial or contrived many will happily take it and not care.
in the same way people turn to drugs and alcohol.. to forget their issues and temporarily change their reality. If it's made easy and available you can do it in a sustainable way that is not harmful, people will swallow that/ blue/red pill and never look back.
Either way its going to be an extremely intertesting next few years as we navigate this turmoil to a good future..
Ok.. i promise no more political crap.. sorry I was triggered again.. need to seek professional help for that .. went off on a tangent...
now back to dreadnought..
as a company that has both gold and rare earths we are not in too bad a position to benefit from what may unfold.. a bit of gold as an internationally accepted reliable inflationary hedge until the robotics boom then demands our rare earths to make the machines that will remove the need for manual labour, take away our jobs and provide us with personal metal slaves that attend to our every need..
