and you made me laugh about IG as those are my thoughts too. every preso (from memory) they have to say how supportive the Chairman is. Eggo stroking exercise that has to be practiced to please the dear leader and show submission.
but what puzzles me is - isn't IG noticing he can make big money if he hires competent MD and give this person some clear run. yes, it may mean dilution for IG as ALK may embark on m&a that requires CR and IG may not be in a position to participate fully but...
better having 10% of $1.5bn company than 18% of $400m.
