Unless nuclear weapons start raining down on the region, or we get the flood of the century over our mine sites, based on the numbers in the report, the business is profitable because for the next year I cannot see our expenses being above approx. $50M aud. Unless there is a huge upfront payment for the mill refurbishment. So, I am afraid the man with 738 up votes is incorrect, because this announcement actually proves the original estimates are actually projecting nicely and above expectations.
For example, at Phillips Find, the initial 37,000t of ore had a revenue of approx. $8M aud which is around $4M aud to HRZ. Therefore for the total 200,000t of project we have around $20M profit alone from PF. Thats not taking into account a higher gold price which is very likely to be above the $4700aud from the first 37,000t of processed ore.
Boorara has the first 50,000t of ore giving a revenue of approx. $5M aud which is around $2.5M aud to HRZ (but this was a gold price of $4200aud at the time). There is around 165,000t of ore remaining but the grade is increasing so the profits will be higher, plus the additional ore they found, so we can anticipate it being around $16-20M profit IMO. Therefore the $30M profit is already smashed if you combine both mines. I am personally expecting well above $50M profit because the gold price is only going to explode further with the current state of the world and the central bank buying volumes of gold hitting records.
