the last time someone "shorted" CXO was 31st July. They had closed their position by August 6. the total number of shares shorted was 79,104.
On that particular day there was 3,372,960 shares sold after the price fluctuated between 4.3 and 4.5 cents. by the time the short position was closed at no time did the shares drop below 4.3 cents. So, old mate at best would've made $316 profit.
Making a statement regarding "shorts" is in relation tone thing only and that is short selling stocks. Just because the price goes down doesn't imply short selling. In the case oc CXO more likely weak hands.
