re: Ann: Gold One Merges West Rand Assets wit... "In the transaction, which has been expected since its listing in February, Sibanye will take over Gold One’s four Cooke mines and tailings dumps near Randfontein to the west of Johannesburg.
The mines will add an average of 260,000oz of gold to Sibanye over the next five years and the tailings project will add 300,000oz more gold, taking Sibanye’s annual gold output close to 2-million ounces."
Still trying to get my head around this. we bought the assets for 250 + 70 million and sold them for 140 million. upon the transaction the shares in sibanye went up valuing our stake at ~160 million. Doesnt sound too good!, however we have a 17% stake in what could soon be a 2 million ounce producer. so possible 340 000oz atributable to gdo. plus modder east ~ 120 000oz? Please correct my comments or assumptions. I am a bear of little brain.
