When AAM first announced their contractor was sorting ore, I wondered about using heap leach/CIC for the low grade stockpile. Very economical way to treat low grades. The technique allows a lower cutoff grade, significantly increasing the resource. High clay content would be a negative but near surface, low grade ore would not require any crushing for a heap leach operation. I like to think the company would already be setting up test columns for infiltration tests.
The geo team will be using SURPAC mine management software. This is a flexible package and can be integrated with positioning software in ore loaders. The company is currently advertising for a senior surveyor as well. Accurate surveying means precise grade control mapping. It's essential for precision mining.
