No doubt that there will be different parties working on alternative battery options. This one says no nickel. Is it safe? Is it better than current batteries? Will there be a shortage of materials that are used in this new battery when mass production is required thus making its raw material prices rocket up? No one knows since no details have been provided and once they provide these, the claims need to be cross-checked. Lots of unknowns there.

Now for what we know. Elon Musk has recently asked for more nickel to be produced. I saw his fortune increase by US$8b in a day a week ago. I must confess that he is on higher wages than me and has achieved more in the innovation field than yours truly. I will give him the benefit of the doubt on believing that he knows what he is talking about when he is asking for more nickel. Hence, I am serenely awaiting the nickel boom. In a couple of years, POS will be a producer.
