Ok thanks HC. So what you are suggesting is that coal seam geology is such that the coal (per cubic meter of material say) supports a much greater flow than shale and thus all that may need to be done is a well threaded thru it from a horizontal (or possibly vertical if it is thick enough) to flow economical gas flows. Whereas shale requires a lot of fracking to enable the rock to find enough open surface area to flow to the same degree from the equivalent amount of material ?
