I understand that the pressure dictates the extend of how much fill there is in the structure. Could faults also be at play as it seems several of the sands have the same aerial extent or potential pressure.
Yes, faulting can separate a structure into compartments, each with separate pressures, column heights and degrees of fill. You won't know that from a single well. Pressure measurements will give you the column height reasonably accurately but if there is faulting you won't know the connected volume unless you do an extended flow test and do a material balance analysis.
I haven't seen any obvious faulting in Dorado from the sections they've posted, but I haven't looked at the actual open-file seismic data. I'm not a geophysicist.
