yes, I meant to clarify I was talking US only here. They appear to have a decent business in Aus, but seem to be failing to gain any traction in the US.
In response to the other posts, I feel AMX is overvalued. Less so now, but particularly before the recent drop. I think the reason it had a higher valuation was because of comparison to Nearmap, but those comparisons are silly. They are very different businesses. Nearmap in Aus makes far far more profit in Australia than AMX, and AMX has been established there for some time. I don’t really see them as too much of a competitor to Nearmap, there is space for both in the US.
But as Nearmap has shown, it can be a very long and costly road to replicate operations in the US, with no guarantee of success.
