Having used Nearmap product in Australia extensively and trialled AMX's Spookfish/Metromap offering, the reality is that Nearmap's huge operating margins will almost certainly enable AMX to make a buck in Oz. These products are such huge productivity enhancing tools for many industry segments that it's important for society for some competition. I've written about this in NEA threads before and it's worth pointing out. For my projects now, I'm likely to need just a bit of localised lidar and photography and AMX seems more likely to have localised one off pricing on a self service basis rather than NEA's one size fits all. BTW, I was literally trying to sell my rebuy of NEA on earnings day and it was cents away, then the Eagleview lawsuit! I'd made quite a bit from NEA and Spookfish in the past, so now have entered AMX to make a bit of $ and personal interest in tthe tech.
