Have any of you ever been to any country in Africa? Or to any country where there is significant government instability? Negotiations don't occur in the same way that they do in the cushy office of a law firm in Sydney.

As part of my previous work I once was asked to fly to Caracas. We were promised a military security escort to ensure our "safety". That didn't do much to build confidence. The bribery, corruption, and insecurity in Venezuela is terrifying. Africa isn't much better. Life isn't valued as much in South America and Africa.

The world of western capital markets, including the ASX, is a distant factor when you a negotiating with a military-backed coup leader who wants to keep money in his country. So far, to them, LLL is a money printer with an endless supply of Chinese/Australian capital.

I truly believe that most of the investors here simply want a good return on the share price, and don't ever plan to stick around until the company starts production and finally starts paying dividends. I am sure there will be a few more internal conflicts in Mali before people finally realise that this could all be a distant dream. If production starts, the international interests who are controlling Mali's Military, and who organised the Mali coup, will surely spark more internal conflicts, in order to introduce further excise duties under the threat of halting exports altogether.

If you try to deal with a snake long enough, it will bite you.

Don't get me wrong, this may be a great share to ride on its way back up $0.80-$1.00, but you all should invest $100 at a bookshop to read a few history books about the African continent - there is a reason it is extremely hard to not only develop a mine there, but to keep one running long term.
