The Mt Isa to MacArthur River trend SEDEX deposits are all dated about 1.65Ma and is hosted in sediments that sit near major extensional faults at the edge of the basins. The sediments were young when mineralization was introduced. The vast majority of SEDEX deposits world wide are aged 1.65Ma.
The Barkley may be a different beast. The basement metaseds coming out of NDIBK04 and our first drill hole are dated 1.87Ma, same as the the Tennant Ck IOCG province and 200 million years older than Mt Isa. So they may have been cooked up and mineralized before the basin extension tectonics that mineralised the SEDEX deposits at Mt Isa.
I hope this sounds smart, but everyone should know it's the red wine talking.
Who really cares if the drill brings up some riches.
