Ok I'll bite, have you not realised the ALP have just come into power? The budget package was restrained, largely to curb the decade long LNP mismanagement and outright rorting leading to a trillion dollar deficit.

Re - power prices, they are the result of privatisation. A LNP think tank scheme.

Couple that with the party's obsession with fossil fuels and active resistance to accept the attributable link to climate change.

Then look at the state of the media impartiality as to who owns what and what is reported and what manner.

This is why we are lagging with renewables/infrastructure/EV availability/uptake.

But, I tend to agree with one of your points, I'm not sure we need it. If some sort of mining profits tax is introduced then we'll end up paying it back anyway. At least it's a head start.
