Hi Harry.
Please don’t take my disdain for managed funds as a slight on anyone who is a member. I realise that they perform an important role for many who haven’t the time, inclination, skill or combination of all. No doubt many Aussies will enjoy a comfortable retirement with their hard earned in their hands.
As I have mentioned, my SMSF is my baby and it is providing the whole family with a life that I couldn’t have imagined only 25 years ago. An obsession, probably. If I had stayed in a managed Superfund, I wouldn’t be retired and my family wouldn’t be living in the manner that they are becoming accustomed to. Maybe that isn’t a great thing.
