Call me cynical, but I also wonder whether, by telling us Scott Lowe met with the government, whether he is being set up as the sacrificial lamb, here, in case things go pear-shaped (again). After all, he's already leaving.

Which also begs the question, if he is our primary point of contact with the Malian government, why he is leaving at all?
