One of Australia's many problems is that half of the population never drive or travel by rail through rural areas (in 'normal times'), instead flying overseas or interstate.
They therefore lack curiosity and knowledge about rural Australia that at a basic level comes form admiring that beautiful yellow canola crop by the roadside or rail line, or gazing at the Angus or Herefords grazing. Nor do they ever meet small town rural people.
