One example of changed logistics GNC may be instituting is Pacific National loaded grain train number 3420 in NSW that departed Temora, NSW in the early evening and is about to join the Melbourne - Sydney line at Cootamundra North, and then travel via Campbelltown and Hornsby to Carrington at the Port of Newcastle. It's almost certain to have GNC grains not a competitor's.
This is due to the two ways to approach Port Kembla, NSW by rail both being closed, though as noted above, it's possible the line through Wollongong may reopen in a couple of days. Yet to be confirmed.
The curfew on freight trains through Sydney during weekday peak periods (0600 - 1000 hours and 1500 - 1900) is not such a problem to the south of the city as the Sydney - Melbourne line has a separate track for freights, but north of the city (through Turramurra and Hornsby) this isn't the case. Therefore, many freight trains operate overnight.
