'The Weekly Times' (Vic) has a golden photo on its front page today of a booming canola crop at Prairie, on the Bendigo - Swan Hill rail line.
On pages 4 and 5, a few growers from across the state are interviewed. Some expect above-average yields, with one commenting he'd never had three consecutive good years in his lifetime, and others expect average yields with the potential for above-average if more rain arrives this month.
One interviewee suggests 'we're not home year'. A sensible comment: even city non-slickers like me know not to count chickens.
