The 21 July announcement explains in detail what was done and what will be done. They used XRF scanning to determine grades however were also sending for traditional lab assays too which may actually show even better grades than the XRF. They mention global delays in lab assays, so imo XRF was necessary to determine that what they have discovered is worthy of further drilling, permit applics etc. without waiting for the detailed assays.

The DHEM work being done now is probably going to allow them to sink the next drill into the core of the system.
