Maybe a simple case of old school mining versus the modern day approach, but I also suspect that less is more maybe and seeing that they already suspect there is alot of gold there then that side of the business
may be gobbled up for a pretty penny leaving them to focus on developing their other projects like cobalt etc You can have the biggest deposit sitting in the ground but if you don't have the means to monetize it then what would you do, you build up your business to a point where it looks like an attractive business proposition then you sell it but having said that building returns for your shareholders should also be a company's priority.
