Hey Nandina, they are currently drilling the 4th hole at Goornong South and intend to drill 10 holes there. "These holes are the first of a planned initial ten hole program to test a favourable gold corridor centred on the Goornong prospect which is located immediately north of Agnico Eagle’s Fosterville mine lease "

I last went by before Christmas and the drill rig was further west along Whatleys Rd from the 2nd drill site. I'll include a pic of where I've seen the rig and S2Rs description for reference. I have also been told that there will be road closures further south of drill site 1 on Nelsons Ln and Sharkeys Rd (below sites 2-4).



"Hole SFVD0001 tested the anticline south of previously known near surface oxide gold mineralisation where drilling by Kirkland Lake (now Agnico Eagle) had intersected low-level gold mineralisation associated with quartz vein fault structures outside of the axial zone of an interpreted anticline."

"Hole SFVD0002 tested a target interpreted to be a parallel anticline corridor to the east of Goornong, where historic drilling indicated a steep west dipping mineralised fault adjacent to the anticline hinge."

"Hole SFVD0003 is the first of four drill holes planned to test for multiple structures that cross the axial zone of the anticline to the south of the oxide mineralisation at Goornong South."

"S2 commenced drilling SFVD0004 before Christmas and will continue in early January. This hole is being drilled down the axial plane from the same collar position as SFVD0003 but at a steeper angle to the north."


I'm further south of Fosterville but have spoken to people who know the Mayreef area well and believe there is a lot of gold there.
I spoke to a company rep several weeks ago who mentioned Mayreef as a location of interest so it will be interesting to see what happens.
