When I saw the names Goshawk and Geomalia, I figured perhaps they were using G's for smaller Gobs of intrusion that they didn't expect to grow much. But what do I know?
Maybe they are named after the geologist's dogs or sisters. Many years ago, I was in the bush with a forestry crew, and we came upon an unnamed creek. The engineer asked me to name it, and it now bears the name of one of my dogs.
