jefferies as i have said i don't see any problem with lead from the pit , also any lead will be as galena which does not appear to be effected much by the sea as the earlier carbonate lead was. but that was all mined and thrown into the sea in the 1860's to dissolve and cause todays problem . however lead would already be a major concern and i expect well covered in the environmental reports.
there is no doubt no waste would ever be dumped in the ocean rather i would see it stored on land and perhaps back filled after mining back into the pit
