Globally the smelter updates were starting to notify what quarterly update when they were coming back online. I think the catalyst was the trade war / chip shortages, and push for EVs. The supply chains need to be straighted out, now we are seeing TSMC fab in Arizona etc eta 2024. (Samsung Fab Q4 2023, Texas?). Other proclaimations from Ford to be 100% EVs by 2030. Quartz is merely the feedstock; but you can see the demand will be explosive - polysilicon is competing with glass and construction/(infrastructure) industry for (critical) raw materials. Sand is no longer abundant.....
