Thanks for your comment but I think you guys are missing something that, with a bit of dispassionate & logical analysis, seems quite evident. The man is looking after his own interests in his own way. Tell me anybody on this forum who isn't trying to look after their own interests (and I'll show you a liar
![wink.png](https://hotcopper.com.au/images/smilies/wink.png)
). So that raises the question of what his interest really are. Now let me see, have I heard talk of this man as a mining tycoon? Infact not! What, then, is his skills set? Seems to me he is first and foremost a geologist and, from what I've read, a pretty damned good one at that. Also a businessman and a fairly successful one at that. What does a businessman do? They do business --- ie.they turn deals. What is a deal? One buys something, improves it a bit and sells it for a huge profit. No?
Right.
This man (if he is who he says he is --- and I have no reason to doubt him) owns the block next door --- Tanbreez. some of you have commented scornfully that he's done nothing yet to develop Tanbreez. Also that Tanbreez is small beer compared with Kvanesfjeld. But does he (personally) actually want to develop Tanbreez? He initiated Kvanesfjeld, proved the potential of the project, then on sold it at a (huge --- I imagine) profit. He then turned to the block next door, whose resources he again proved and then obtained an exploitation licence for.
That's already as good as money in the bank for a businessman.
More likely to my mind, therefore, that what he wants to do is on sell Tanbreez to a professional miner, pocket a very handsome profit and move on to prove up another project. That would be making best use of his 2 documented talents --- geologist & businessman. All strength to his arm, I say! Why should you be knocking him for that. Jealousy perhaps?
However, little fly in the oitnment; Kvanesfjeld would be more attractive to any mining company IF it had an exploitation licence. So in the prevailing circumstances what could be in GBB's best interest (everybody has the right to look out for their own best interests, right?)?
He let slip in one of his posts that the Kvanesfjeld tenement also has other geological formations also REE ore bearing but (normally) with little or no U238 or Thorium which GGG has neglected to investigate. Wouldn't Tanbreez be more saleable and at a much higher price if he could pass it on with Kvanesfjeld attached as a "greenfields exploration" under 100ppm U238 REE site, he personally having already determined that those REEs are indeed there (but in as yet unknown concentrations)?
So it would be in the interests of such a person for GGG to lose the rights to Kvanesfjeld completely. After such a failure, such a person could aquire the rights to that tenement for a pinch of salt (relatively), combine it as a prospect with the block next door (ie.Tanbreez) --- even doing some resource proving there in the process. Many big players --- with the skills sets and patience to get big projects up and running --- would likely then be extremely interested, particularly as the proven resources now banned could feasibly be unbanned and/or new technolgies be developped within a couple of decades to make extraction of REEs possible with or without disturbing the attached U238 too much. Put it this way, if I were BHP or Rio Tinto for example (or perhaps even "the Donald") that prospect sure would interest me.
Whadyasay?
So lay off the bloke, huh? He's just doing "his job" --- just as you would if you were him! Seems to me that he's actually been pretty honest and straight, in most of his posts ---- even if there are things which are not in his interest to reveal (and he is not in any way obliged to reveal)
PS. You should give his Tanbreez web site a thorough read. Its a private company so the level of disclosure is not so great but .....! Got some interesting people in management there --- like an ex PM of GoG for one!!!! Hmmmmmm.
Go figure!
