Siumut lost the election in (large) part due to the local opposition to the mine. Do you really expect them to be making advancement of Kvanefjeld a cornerstone of their next election campaign? It's possible but IMO unlikely. They will be aiming to become the leading party and head of the coalition, they will be seeking to reclaim their majority and may leave the controversy of uranium mining for much longer period of time than the next election cycle. I do not think it is cynical to say that their primary objective is reelection, not mining ree and u at Kvanefjeld, which may be at odds with their hopes of forming government.
