The problem with the Government in Greenland is not that it is run by a bunch of lefties and is therefore bound to fail but that it is a populist government and therefore bound to fail. Most of the governments of Scandanavia are left-leaning and their peoples top the surveys every year as the happiest citizens in the World. I think Norway just pipped Sweden this year with Denmark not far behind.

It is populism that is the real evil and not if you are left or right leaning because it occurs on both sides of politics. Most sane humans sit just left or right of the centre line and can live with either conservative or liberal governments so long as their policies are seen as equal for all. There will always be people whinging and carrying on because they can see some political capital in it, but in theory in a democracy when a government fails to lead its population through sound policy then they get booted at the next election and they leave office graciously (or not if they claim it was 'stolen' from them).

Unfortunately, Populist governments are rable-rousers elected on catchy sloganeering that centres on one or two hot topics and with no broad based policy agenda. They struggle to govern in a cohesive fashion as they are usually led by a cult-like leader or a disparate leadership group with stilted personal views which are quite often against the overall interests of the population. They thrive on making partisan decisions based on their personal theories rather than on practical reality and what is good for the general population. Like nuts in a nutshell they are terrible in government.

In Greenland the current coalition partners ran on an anti-uranium platform and little else while in recent American politics Trump ran on a messianiac platform of "Make America Great Again" which really was just one man making unhinged, adhoc and often contradictory decisions that usually ran against the advice of his own advisors who he had personally appointed because of their supposed expertise.

Personally, I think that the so-called battle between left and right in politics is irrelevant unless you are talking hard hard right e.g. Nazism or hard hard left e.g. China under Mao. Otherwise, in a democracy we change governments like we change our socks. Sometimes they turn out to be practical, sometimes stylish and innovative and sometimes threadbare. When it is the latter we usually get around to throwing them in the bin.
