The ASX is littered with individuals and institutions who play the game differently you me (and you, by the sounds of it). There are those who are here for the long term, some for a quick buck, and some for a specific gain and they'll pull out whenever.

@MrFantasticMan I do think that CPM could see a higher gain than HMX in the medium-long term.

My investment approach is strictly fundamental analysis, and predominantly 12+ months to avoid the capital gains tax. CPM is a great candidate, in my view, for coming out in the green.

I'm pretty sure what's happening today is a) a key holder leaving because of fears of Russian escalation and broader market impacts, b) someone who needed the money quick for debt or alternative opportunity, c) someone who had bought in prior to Feb and is already over 70% up.

Or d).... all of the above, which I think is most likely. Nothing wrong with walking away with 50%+ in a world of uncertainty. Personally, whilst I also expect uncertainty, I only bought in in January and I'm betting to be much happier by next January
