If people are feeling a bit frustrated with NWC's SP. I just had a look at Perennial Funds management quarterly commentaries.
The returns for their Strategic Natural Resources trust for the year was 10% (in line with the resources index) but their Micro Cap Resources Fund was 1%.

They and a number of Aust small & mid-cap equities managers (not just resources) are saying that their section of the market is being harshly valued relative to the larger caps. It certainly seems to be the case. When the pendulum swings on a restoration of confidence it will swing hard.

Unfortunately, we are playing Baz- ball in this section of the market. I do it with an oversize portion of smalls for the return and tend to counterbalance it with cash and Overseas equities larger-cap equities.
