US GDP has taken a hit recently because of buying of lots of Gold from Australia. Soon the US will tell Australia to choose between trade with China and protection from the US. The US tariffs won't work unless it creates a trade block with all the countries involved tariffing China at much the same rate. Australia is a trading nation but won't give up Security so will be forced to tariff China and sell off the crown jewels, like it's gold mining companies to US companies. All this will happen before the mid-terms, when Trump either starts losing power or invokes the insurrection act. May you live in interesting times.
