Hi Matt,
I believe the rampers both Up and Down are in the employ of fund managers and brokers. It could be that down rampers are employed to post negatively against a stock that the fund manager or broker are heavily involved with, and at the same time ramp the stock up whilst always watching their trading book.
Compare traded volumes of JV partners Conico and Greenstone both have somewhat similar shares on issue, why is Conico traded downwardly so heavily at times while GSR is not.
