I applaud the company for getting on the front foot through the provision of this statement. I think it is also noticeable that the company may have learnt its lesson about attaching dates to such events. That said, I am a little disappointed that no update was given about the commencement of recruiting at UC San Diego.

We all know that we have had recruitment constraints at Duke and it would have been comforting to know that a new recruitment front had opened up. It has been six months or so since the FDA gave the go ahead for the trial and for the second site not to be up and running with no explanation I find a little discouraging. Hopefully Carl's recent trip to California included a visit to UCSD to find out first-hand what is going on.
