To complement Arktic1970's post on DJ2 ( Post #: 37723410 ), when I think about volcanic ash beds, asencountered in Don Julio 2, I conjure up images of laterally extensiveash deposits distributed over reasonably large areas. Like Don Julio 2, Mustang, Tarpon andBeluga are amplitudesupported gas /condensateprospectsand I was somewhat anxious that given the close proximity of Mustang, Tarpon and Beluga to Don Julio 2,these prosects may also have volcanic ash beds overlying the primary objective, thereby creatingfalse positives, not in response to gas, but in response to possibly overlyingash beds…………….. The link below is to a technical paper entitled “The Occurrence and SeismicExpression of Volcanic Ash Beds in the Gulf of Mexico”. Probably boring to most readers. The study was within theGreen Canyon, Ewing Bank, and southern Ship Shoal offshore areas of thenorthern Gulf of Mexico, some considerable distance fromChambers County. After reading the paper, I felt somewhat better. OEL's comments there are no other known volcanic ash beds within this interval in the area are added further comfort.

The study concluded that the volcanic ash-bearing intervalsare recognisable on seismic, but are not traceable over large distances. Theyoccur as locally bright reflections withina more complex sequence of channel deposits. They interpret theseash deposits as higher-order features (???meaning????) within upper-slope amalgamated channelcomplexes. The paper also went onto to say that this also explains the sporadicoccurrence of the ash.

Seismic expression of an ash beds (Ewing Bank) from the paper added below (certainly has a bight amplitude response)
