No one can really answer your questions as no information has been announce in regards to the detail you are seeking. But one would hope that if they are considering 24hr mining operation this is an indication of the increase in ore transported and more importantly their future aspirations of increased haulage rates and shipping frequency.
Is there a white knight? Well yet again they have kept us guessing as Gary, in the latest announcement, refers to the increase in haulage as Stage1 so no idea as to what stage2 will bring to the table.
I like @bullbandit think that stage 2 will just expand on stage one and aiming for 3 ships a month but the way they are milking this stage2 announcement suggests to me maybe there is a little more to it than just that.
